AmberDesignz.com was created by- you guessed it- Amber! I have had a love for computers since 1989 when I was 12. I remember using AOL- pay per minute and my parents made me pay for each minute! Boy have times changed. I couldn't imagine dial-up- even high speed is never fast enough. But I do love technology. Especially my iPhone. Internet, email, maps, whenever I want! Unless I'm in a dead zone of course. My husband calls me a geek, that's okay. He needs a geek. I'm not much of a novel reader- but if you look at my bookshelf- I have lots of computer books. I love to read book that teach me more about my field. I visit Amazon frequently and love B&N. My son does too. They have story time on Saturdays.

I went to Magnolia High School in Anaheim, CA. I had a great time growing up there. Lots of friends, sports and the beach. But I do love living in quiet Hurricane, UT. No dogs barking next door, no street lights - just stars at night.

After high school I went to Cypress college, then Golden West college. Yes, all 5'4" of me played basketball their! Absolutely loved it. And to make ends meet I worked at Ralph's Grocery store. When I didn't have class I would drive all the way to Lake Elsinore and visit my parents and go riding in the hills. Even on game day! My coach wasn't thrilled with that.

After Golden West, I met my future husband. Where? At Starwest MX park in Perris, CA! He helped me move from Huntington Beach to Lake Elsinore- I know- what was I thinking? But Riverside county wasn't so bad. I lived in Lake Elsinore, Corona and San Jacinto. I then went to another junior college! Mount San Jacinto- in Menifee, CA. That is where I learned I finally liked college! I took photography & multimedia classes. Learned that I loved web design and digital photography. I was just one class shy of getting my degree and My husband and I decided to move to Utah.

I have 18 years of computer experience. I have knowledge of:

  • Adobe Photoshop CS3
  • Adobe Dreamweaver CS3
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Adobe Illustrator- (working on being proficient in this)
  • Adobe Flash CS3
  • Adobe Premiere Pro
  • Have Final Cut Pro- haven't had time to play with it yet.
  • Wordpress setup and creating themes.

  • I also give "How To" lessons on Photoshop.

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Outlook Express
  • Mail - on a Mac of course
  • Networking; computers, routers, remote assistance
  • Setting up computers
  • Building computers from scratch
  • Being a tech on the phone for computer problems- I could save you a trip to see the "Geek Squad"
  • I use a 24" iMac with a 20" additional monitor- have to have two.
  • I also have a PC laptop but I am working hard to get the new Apple Macbook Pro 17" with 8GB ram! $1200 for just the RAM!!
