Michael Young MX

I started racing motocross when I was 9 yrs old on a air cooled KX 60. We raced locally for about 2 years and realized that I can make my Debut at a amateur national.

My first national was the World Mini Grand Prix in Las Vegas and I got 10th. After that we started to hit all the big races and never went back locally unless we just needed a break.

I moved to the 80 class and things keep getting better and better, I had a few podium finishes in 95 and 96 so in 97 i got picked up by Honda to ride for there Amateur team. In 97 I got a few more podium finishes and a championship in Florida Mini O's.

I moved to the 125 INT. class in 98 and rode Intermediate for only 6 months when we decided that we just cant afford to do it anymore without full support so I went Pro.

I raced my first Pro national in 98 at washougal in WA. I made the Main and went 21-22 for 20th overall. At the final race of the year in Steel city PA, I rode for MXracer on a story we were writing called Factory for a day and I rode for the Honda FMF team.

In 99 I rode my first SX in Anaheim and I was leading my LCQ and crashed. The next round I Broke my wrist in 2 places and had surgery. For the next few years after that I would race a SX and then Break something in the next that would put me out for the year.

In 2002 I rode for the privateer team Moto XXX and got some great finishes on that team with a 11th at the first RD in Anaheim.

This coming January will be my 6th year and SX and I am starting my own SX team with Kris Keefer. We are very excited for the way things are already going with that and we think it is going to be a great year for the best of us.
